Robert Betcher, age 76, passed away Friday,
January 20 in Vancouver. Robert was born September 7, 1929 in Malott, WA to Willard and Helen Betcher. They moved
to Chesaw, WA where he finish school. He then went to Seattle and attended the University of Washington for a shor
time. Robert met Irene Eagle and they
married in Seattle in 1953. They moved back to the Chesaw
area and farmed there for about five years. They moved several times but spent most of their time in Washington and Oregon. Robert worked as an engineer for the State of Oregon and
retired in 1988 and has lived in Camas for about 30 years. Mr. Betcher enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Irene, at home;
children, Darlene and her husband, LeRoy Naffin of Camas, Christopher Betcher
and his wife Tracy of Deer Harbor, WA, Rosie and her husband, Daron Jones of
Vancouver, Adam Betcher and his wife, Siri of Bellevue, WA; sisters, Hope
Hughes of Seattle, WA, Viola Thatcher of Bellevue, WA; and 18
grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, January
24, at 10 a.m. at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas. Burial will follow at the Fern Prairie Cemetery. To send condolences or to sign the online
