 Jesse R. Bishop

Jesse R. Bishop died Dec. 17, 2000, at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver.  He was 70. 

Bishop was born Feb. 10, 1930, in Leedey, Okla., to Wayne and Gertrude Bishop.  He moved to California as a boy and after graduating from high school, joined the Navy and served during the Korean War.  Bishop settled in Camas in 1955 and worked for the Clark County Road Department.  He retired in 1990 and enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii.  Bishop was an avid outdoorsman who liked hunting and fishing.  He was also a member of the North Bank Masonic Lodge in Washougal.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, at home; sons, Daniel, Terry and Jeffrey, all of Camas; sisters, Oleta Parr of Las Vegas, Betty Earl of Ceres, Calif.; four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas.  Burial will be private at the Fern Prairie Cemetery.
