Ruth Violet Bishop
RUTH VIOLET BISHOP
Ruth Bishop, age 75, passed away October 15, 2010 at home in Vancouver. She was born July 13, 1935 in Eugene, OR and moved to Washougal where she went to school and graduated from high school. She married Jesse Bishop and they mode their home in Camas. Ruth had several jobs but mainly worked at the Pendleton Woolen Mill. She was active in the Moose Lodge #1042 where she held the offices of Senior, Past and College of Regents offices. Ruth enjoyed traveling, camping, and going to casinos. She also loved her grandchildren very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse in 2000.
She is survived by her children, Daniel, Terry and Jeff Bishop all of Vancouver; sisters, Alice Higdon of Washougal, Shirley Cheney of Yuma, AZ; brother, Leroy McCuistion of Ridgefield, WA; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Ruth\'s life will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 11am at Straub\'s Funeral Home in Camas. Another service and reception will follow at the Moose Lodge.
Straub\'s Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to the Hospice Southwest @ PO Box 1600, Vancouver, WA 98668.
