James Madison Brown

James Madison Brown, 69, of Rt. 2, Box 10, Camas, a Maintenance employee of Crown Zellerbach, died, Fri., July 11, at his home.

Born in Jefferson City, Mo., Sept. 18, 1889, he had lived in the Camas area 36 years and was  a member of The Church of God.

Funeral services were held Tues., July 15, at Swank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. M. G. Tucker officiating.  Interment was in Fern Prairie Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Ethel J. Brown; six sons, Merle Brown of Portland, John, of Crescent City, Cal., Thomas, of Seattle, Allen, James, and Mark Brown all at home; two daughters, Donna Manor, of Vancouver, and Janie Brown, at home; four brothers, Bert Brown, Thayer, Mo., Lawrence Brown, Mammoth Springs, Ark., Walt Brown of Blackwell, Okla., and Noble Brown of Los Angeles; five sisters, Ivah Taylor, Lawrence, Kan., Jewel Green, Chanute, Kan., Ruby Cantrell, Missouri, Alpha Beatty, Albuquerque, N.M. and Lucille Rankin of Vancouver; and 15 grandchildren.
