Mrs. Viola Rasmussen

Mrs. Viola Mildred Brownlee, 23, passed away in Vancouver, Saturday, Nov. 16, 1946.  She was a native of Clark county.  Funeral services were held at the Swank-O’Haire Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m.  Burial was made in the Fern Prairie cemetery.

Rev. Charles Thomas, pastor of the Congregational church in Washougal read the funeral rites.

Surviving relatives of Mrs. Brownlee are her widower, J. F. Brownlee, Orchards; two children, Carolyn and Jo Annie, both at home; her father, Chris Rasmussen; a step-sister, Miss Elaine Pierce,  and her step-mother, Mrs. Erba Rasmussen, all of Orchards.

Fern Prairie

This community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Viola Brownlee which occurred Saturday morning after only a few days illness with infantile paralysis.  Mrs. Brownlee who was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Rasmussen was born and reared in this community and leaves besides her relatives many friends who mourn her loss.  She was married over three years ago to Joe Brownlee of Vancouver and they made their home at McLoughlin Heights until the pas summer when they moved to a place near her childhood home.  She with her husband and two little girls had just returned from a visit with his parents and other relatives in Florida when she was stricken with the fatal illness.
