 Judith Rae Ferguson

Judith “J. J.” Rae Ferguson died Friday, May 3, 2002, after a long struggle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and myelofibrosis in a Portland hospital.  She was 55.

Mrs. Ferguson was born April 14, 1947.  She was graduated from Stevenson High School in 1964 and attended the University of Washington.

Mrs. Ferguson sang professionally in nightclubs in the Northwest in her younger years.  She was a longtime employee of Clark County, working as a court clerk and supervisor until her health forced her to retire in March 2000.

Mrs. Ferguson loved reading and liked working on her computer.  She enjoyed flowers and the Christmas season.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin, at home; her mother, Ruth Elledge of Washougal; one daughter, Andrea Ferguson of Battle Ground; two sons, Derek Elledge of Vancouver and Chris Bevers of Woodland; one sister, Jill Safran of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

Private burial will be in Fern Prairie Cemetery.  A memorial gathering will be at 4 p.m. today at the family home.
