Joseph R. Wagoner

CAMAS – A retired printer from Crown Zellerbach Corp., Joseph R. Wagoner, died at home Monday of cancer.

Mr. Wagoner, 76, was born June 26, 1911, in Camden, Ind.  He had lived in the Fern Prairie area since 1948.

An evening vigil service will be at 7 p.m. tonight at Straub’s Funeral Home, 325 N.E. Third Ave., Camas.  Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 324 N.E. Oak St., Camas, with the Rev. Ronald Belisle officiating.  Burial will be in Fern Prairie Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Lorraine, at home; three sons, Dennis of Veradale, Wash., John and Larry, both of Washougal; three sisters, Lula Shanks of Brazil, Ind. Eva Lennon of Roundup, Mont., and Elda Hazelgrove of Crawfordsville, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, The 49ers Trailer Club and the Golden Crown Club.

A daughter, Doris Wagoner, died in 1953.
