Obituary

Ruth M. Webberley

Ruth Maude Webberley died Dec. 4, 2001, at Stonebridge Nursing Home in Vancouver.  She was 80.

Webberley was born Nov. 11, 1921, in Villegreen, Colo.  She was raised in Colorado during the Great Depression, when she learned to face difficult situations early in life, yet she never lost the ability to laugh or to make others laugh.  She was married at the age of 15 to Earl “Bo”  White, who preceded her in death in 1998.  Throughout her life, she worked in many different occupations, which allowed her to travel throughout the country.  During World War II, she worked for Boeing as one of the “Rosie the Riveter’s.”

After retirement, she loved to travel in her motor home or travel trailer and spent many winters in Arizona.  She had a great love for her family.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas H. White of Austin, Nev., and Lonnie D. White, of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, D. Joanne Bennett of Longview, Wash., and Linda Willoughby of Camas; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service was held Dec.7 at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas.  Burial followed at Fern Prairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice Southwest, P.O. Box  1600, Vancouver, WA 98668.
