Arliegh J. Weeks

Former Fern Prairie Grange member Arliegh J. Weeks died April 10 in Spokane after a short illness.

A resident of Omak, Wash., at the time of his death, Weeks was born April 11, 1907 near Leahy in Douglas County.

He was an elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Bridgeport Branch at the time of his death.  He was also a member of the Fern Prairie Grange, near Camas; the Washington State Grange and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Weeks was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Opal Henley who died in 1964.  He is survived by his second wife, Doris, in Omak; two sons, Harry of Vancouver and Samuel of Ridgefield, Wash.; three daughters, Barbara Hood of Renton, Wash., Arlene Murray of Ridgefield, and Donna Heuvel of Camas; three step-daughters, Julia Hoon of Wenatchee, Wash., Jessie Leibel of Puerto Rico and Jeanie Forney of Oroville, Wash.; a brother, Robert, of Bend, Ore.; a sister, Audrey Sarvela of Independence, Mo.; two grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral took place at Straub’s Funeral Home with vault burial in the Fern Prairie Cemetery.
